Non-Smoking Facilities

To promote a healthy atmosphere for all of our customers Saxon Pool & Leisure Centre, Flitwick Leisure Centre, Sandy Sports Centre and Biggleswade Recreation Centre are strictly non-smoking sites.

Swimming Pool


Admissions Policy

- Any child under the age of 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- An adult is deemed to a person over the age of 16 years old.

- Main Pools
1 adult to every child aged under 5 years
1 adult to 2 children aged 5-7 years

- Small Pools
1 adult to every 2 children aged under 8 years

Creche


Policies and procedures

The crèche has policies and procedures that are available for perusal upon request. The crèche is registered and inspected by OfSTED.

Booking
To avoid disappointment on arrival, we would advise you to book your child’s place in the
crèche beforehand.

Direct Debit and annual members can book 14 days in advance, centre members can book 8 days in advance and non-members 7 days in advance. All places must be paid for at the time of booking. Bookings must be made at main reception in person or by telephone. A minimum of 2 hours notice is required to cancel a booking. No refunds are given, but bookings can be transferred within 2 weeks of the cancellation for centre members
and 1 week for non-members.

Guidelines

A registration form must be filled in on arrival for the first time at the crèche, which must
include an emergency contact name and number.

Children must be signed in and out of the crèche by the person bringing them, and will
not be allowed to leave with anyone other than the person signing them in, unless prior
written arrangements have been made with the crèche staff.

Parents must stay on site whilst their child is in the crèche.
We are unable to accept any child who has been ill within the last 24 hours.

Workout Classes


Workout class booking procedures:

- Please book in advance to guarantee your place in the class (DD & Annual members 2 weeks, 8 days for centre members and 7 days for non-members with payment on booking).
- If you cannot attend a class, notification is required at least 2 hours prior to the start of the class; otherwise payment is required regardless of membership type. (Repeated non-cancellation of classes will result in full payment of those classes missed)
- If we need to cancel or change a class we will endeavour to give you 2 hours notice.
- A BodyPump technique class MUST be attended before a BodyPump class so that you are fully aware of the correct techniques, body positioning and safety issues.
- Due to safety guidelines and risk assessments carried out by the health and safety manager young children are discouraged from spectating. Any young children should be under control and sit on the benches provided.
- No children are allowed to enter the store cupboard at any time, as heavy equipment is stored there.
- The age restriction for classes is 16+. Student and adult rates apply.
- If there are 2 people or less in a class the management have the right to cancel the session. Class numbers are monitored. Low attendance may result in a change or cancellation of the class.
- During classes please keep conversation to a minimum as it is off putting for staff and other participants.
- Mobile phones must be switched off or on silent mode during all classes.
- If you are late for a class you will be denied access due to safety measures and to reduce disruption to the class.
- Please follow storage plans for the studio cupboards so equipment is easily accessible and stored safely.


Sports



Booking Information

- Centre members may book up to 8 days in advance either in person or over the telephone. Non-members may book up to 7 days in advance and full payment must be made at the time of booking.
- We would require 24 hours notice of cancellation of all sports bookings, otherwise there will be a charge. This also applies to all Lifestyle inductions.
- Classes must be cancelled at least two hours in advance, otherwise there will be a charge. The charge applies to all members (including Gold Members).
- Day admission must be paid by all non-members taking part in centre activities. This includes all courts, team games and any club sessions.
- Child to Adult ratio policy’s apply, ask at Reception for details.
